  • Forecast upcoming payments
  • Approve before investing
  • Track holdings and redemptions
  • Designed for short-term cash allocation

Surplus cash often sits idle between pay cycles.

Service businesses collect fees and retainers ahead of payroll, vendor bills and taxes — then keep large balances in current accounts because the next payment date is unclear.

  1. Large current-account balances

Collections land before salaries, vendors, GST/TDS and rent are due.

  2. Unclear “safe to invest”

Teams fear a shortfall more than they value idle float — without a clear forecast.

  3. Scattered approvals

Spreadsheets and ad-hoc emails make investment decisions hard to review later.

  4. Hard to plan redemptions

Without visible holdings and status, redeeming ahead of a payment date feels risky.

Forecast first. Identify surplus second. Invest after approval.

Cash position

Review available cash, operating buffers and restricted amounts — kept separate from forecasts.

Upcoming payments

Capture payroll, vendors, taxes and recurring dues on the dates your team commits to.

Explainable surplus

See potential surplus after obligations and a safety buffer — with a clear line-by-line explanation.

Maker–checker approvals

Human review before money moves. Maker and checker roles, limits and an audit trail stay with you.

Mutual fund workflows

Manage purchase and redemption instructions for eligible schemes — initially focused on ICICI Liquid Fund — through Mytra’s transaction workflow.

Holdings & status

Track transaction status, confirmed holdings and reconciliation. An order acknowledgement is not allotment; redemption proceeds are not bank cash until credited.

Five steps your finance team stays in control of.

  1. 1

    Understand cash

Start from your recorded cash position and operating needs.

  2. 2

    Forecast obligations

List upcoming payments your team has committed to.

  3. 3

    Review surplus & buffer

See what may remain after dues and a contingency buffer.

  4. 4

    Approve an instruction

Human approval before any purchase or redemption request.

  5. 5

    Track & redeem

Follow status, holdings and later redemptions planned around payment dates.

Human approval on every investment instruction. No autonomous trading.

Idle current-account cash typically earns nothing.

Very short bank deposits, when available, often carry lower annual rates than longer tenors. Liquid mutual funds are a different product — market-linked, not a bank deposit — and may be considered for short-term cash allocation subject to scheme terms and redemption timelines.

Idle current account

~0% p.a. typical

  • Operating balances usually earn little or no interest
  • Cash often sits idle between known payment dates
  • Needed for day-to-day operations — not the same as invested surplus

Short-term bank FD

~3% p.a. illustrative

  • Hypothetical short-deposit rate for arithmetic examples only
  • Very short FDs may be unavailable or lower-yielding
  • Bank deposit — different product from a mutual fund

Liquid mutual fund

~5.5% p.a. illustrative only

  • Hypothetical stated rate for comparison — not a performance forecast
  • Plan redemptions around cash needs; subject to scheme terms & settlement
  • Not a bank deposit; not a substitute for operating cash

Known payment dates. Forecast the cash you’ll need.

When obligation dates are clear, forecast those requirements first, keep a buffer, then decide whether any potential surplus should be invested — and plan redemptions around the payment calendar.

Payroll

Month-end salary payments

Collections often land mid-cycle. Salaries clear at month-end. That window is a common place to forecast needs and review potential surplus.

  1. Forecast Reserve payroll and near-term dues in the plan
  2. Review Approve any investment only after buffer and obligations
  3. Before payday Schedule redemption ahead of salary payout, allowing for settlement

Taxes & vendors

GST, TDS and vendor cycles

Tax windows and major vendor runs create the same pattern: cash arrives first; obligations follow on a known schedule.

  1. Forecast Map tax and vendor dates into upcoming payments
  2. Surplus Consider investing only what remains after reserved dues and buffer
  3. Pay Plan redemption ahead of each payment window

Recurring ops

Rent, subscriptions and operating expenses

Recurring costs and expected receipts can be planned carefully — with caution that collections may slip while dues do not.

  1. Plan Capture rent, tools and other recurring outflows
  2. Buffer Keep minimum operating cash and contingency separate
  3. Decide Review potential surplus only after the buffer is set

Your money. Your decisions. Clear visibility.

Your business remains the investor and decision-maker. Mytra provides technology and mutual fund transaction workflows as a Mutual Fund Distributor — not as the custodian of your operating cash.

  • Investment proposals should reflect forecast cash needs and an operating buffer
  • Transactions follow your configured approval process
  • Purchase and redemption requests should show visible statuses
  • Confirmed holdings should be reconciled against authoritative records
  • A redemption request is not available bank cash until proceeds are confirmed as credited
  • Human approval before investment instructions — no autonomous execution

Built for control. Not for hype.

  • Forecast cash needs before treating any amount as surplus
  • Expected receipts should not inflate available cash until confirmed
  • Units update only after confirmed allotment
  • Treat redemption proceeds as cash only after bank credit is confirmed

Why a liquid mutual fund?

LYQD’s initial scheme focus is a liquid mutual fund because the category is commonly considered for short-term surplus — money that may be needed again for payroll, taxes or vendors within days or weeks. This is a product-fit rationale, not a performance guarantee.

  • Fits the payment calendar Designed for parking cash between known obligation dates, not for multi-year investing.
  • Plan redemptions ahead Schedule redemption before a due date, subject to scheme cut-offs, business days and settlement.
  • Vs idle current-account cash Operating balances typically earn little or nothing while awaiting the next cycle.
  • What it is not Not a bank deposit, not a substitute for operating cash, and not a promise of fixed returns or same-day bank credit.

Illustrative interest calculator

Simple arithmetic for a stated annual rate — Interest = Principal × Annual rate × Days ÷ 365. Not a mutual fund return forecast, not tax-adjusted, and not a promise of performance.

Rate A (e.g. short FD) ₹11,507
Rate B (hypothetical) ₹21,096
Difference (B − A) ₹9,589

Defaults: ₹2 crore · 7 days · 3% ≈ ₹11,507 vs 5.5% ≈ ₹21,096. Set Rate A to 0 to model idle current-account cash (≈ ₹0).

Worked examples (same formula, rounded to nearest rupee)

₹2 Cr · 7 days · idle CA At ~0% p.a. ≈ ₹0
₹2 Cr · 7 days Short FD @ 3% ≈ ₹11,507 Hypothetical @ 5.5% ≈ ₹21,096
₹2 Cr · 30 days Short FD @ 3% ≈ ₹49,315 Hypothetical @ 5.5% ≈ ₹90,411
₹5 Cr · 30 days Short FD @ 3% ≈ ₹1,23,288 Hypothetical @ 5.5% ≈ ₹2,26,027

These figures are hypothetical interest calculations for stated annual rates only. They are not forecasts of mutual fund performance. Actual mutual fund returns vary with NAV, expenses, taxes and timing. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks; read all scheme-related documents carefully. Liquid funds are not bank deposits and do not guarantee principal, fixed returns, or credit to your bank on a specific clock time. Redemption processing and settlement depend on scheme terms, cut-off times, business days and applicable rules. A liquid fund is not a substitute for an operating bank balance.

Straight answers for finance leads.

Is a liquid fund the same as a bank deposit?

No. Mutual funds are market-linked investments. They are not bank deposits, do not guarantee returns or principal, and are not a substitute for operating bank balances.

When will redeemed money be available in our bank?

Processing and settlement depend on scheme terms, cut-off times, business days and applicable rules. Plan redemptions ahead of payment dates and allow for settlement. Do not treat a redemption request as bank cash until credit is confirmed.

Does LYQD invest automatically?

No. The intended model is human review and approval before investment instructions. There is no autonomous trading.

Why a liquid mutual fund rather than only a bank deposit?

Liquid funds are often considered for short-term surplus between known payment dates. They are market-linked investments — not bank deposits — and do not guarantee returns, principal, or same-day bank credit. See Why a liquid mutual fund? for the product-fit rationale.

What scheme does the initial scope focus on?

The initial product focus is ICICI Liquid Fund, using Mytra’s mutual fund distribution and transaction workflow. Scheme availability and terms remain subject to applicable rules and documentation.

Who decides how much to invest?

Your business. LYQD is designed to help forecast obligations, show potential surplus after a buffer, and support an approval workflow — you remain the decision-maker.
